Church of San Vicenzo de Bama

This parish church, built in the Baroque style, dates back to the 18th century. It was constructed using granite ashlar and masonry. Today, the exterior is plastered and painted white, although some elements have been left with their natural stone finish like the bell tower, door and window frames, and the cornerstones, all made of ashlar.

Saint Vincent the Martyr is the patron saint of the parish, and his feast day is celebrated on January 22. He is highly venerated, as he was the first Christian martyr of the Iberian Peninsula and is also the patron saint of Valencia, the city where he died after enduring numerous tortures for refusing to renounce his faith. He is typically depicted with symbols of his martyrdom, such as a grill, wheels, or ropes, along with the traditional palm of martyrdom. In some representations, he also appears with a closed book, identifying him as a preacher of the faith.

Near the church is the Queixerías Bama, one of the most renowned Galician cheese producers. They craft cheeses under both the Arzúa-Ulloa Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and the Tetilla PDO.
