This trail runs along the right bank of the Ulla River, leading us,through a beautiful landscape, to some of Touro’s most iconicspots, such as the Inferniño Waterfall and the Pozo do Pego. Along the way we will discover the remains of the San Cristovo manor house, small watermills and the hidden and old”ouriceiras”structures used to store chestnuts that repeatedly sprinkle the leafy chestnut trees.
Near the village of San Pedro de Ribeira, we can enjoy the peaceful stillness of the Pozo do Pego, a natural spot of extraordinary beauty. However, what will surprise us most along the trail are theshifting landscapes, featuring Mediterranean-type forests with cork oaks and rockroses, Atlantic forests with chestnut and oaktrees, and just a short distance away, lush riparian woodlands.
