Santa María de Bendaña

The Church of Santa María de Bendaña, located in the village that gives its name to the parish, is a building with white-painted masonry walls. The door and window frames, as well as the cornerstones, are made of ashlar stone.

The main façade stands out due to its lintelled access door, located beneath a circular window and crowned by a espadaña (bell tower).

It is interesting to note that there are two other parishes dedicated to Santa María, Loxo and Turces. Both celebrate their patron festivities on August 15, like other municipalities in Galicia.

In the church’s atrium, there is a cruceiro (stone cross) placed on a natural rock, giving the whole structure a unique appearance.
